The Omega Gamma Gamma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., based in Warner Robins, Georgia, was born out of a profound sense of brotherhood and a shared dedication to the fraternity's timeless principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. Its formation reflects the vision and collaborative efforts of a group of distinguished Omega Men who sought to establish a local chapter that would not only strengthen their bond as fraternity brothers but also serve as a beacon of service and excellence in the Warner Robins community.

The Vision and Beginnings

In 1987, Brothers William L. Turner (Omega Chapter) and Elijah K. Hill observed a significant and growing number of Omega Men residing in the Warner Robins area. This observation sparked a critical conversation between the two brothers about the potential for a dedicated chapter that would unify these men under the Omega Psi Phi banner and create opportunities to serve the local community more effectively. Their discussions were infused with a deep sense of responsibility to expand the fraternity’s reach and impact in the region.

At the time, Brother Elijah K. Hill was serving as the Basileus of the Lambda Phi Chapter, which oversaw operations in Macon and Fort Valley, Georgia. Recognizing the importance of completing his term and ensuring continuity within Lambda Phi, Brother Hill proposed deferring the pursuit of a new chapter until his leadership role concluded. This strategic decision demonstrated a commitment to Omega’s values of organization and respect for proper processes.

A United Effort

While waiting for the appropriate time to act, the foundation for the new chapter began to take shape. Eight additional Omega Men of exceptional character and dedication were identified and joined Brothers Turner and Hill. These individuals shared the vision of establishing a chapter that would embody the fraternity's ideals. The ten charter members—Brothers Jack O. Davis, Berry Jordan (Omega Chapter), Curtis Martin, Marion T. Porter, Emory Proctor, Clarence Williams (Omega Chapter), David Williams, and Demetrius Woods (Omega Chapter)—worked tirelessly alongside Brothers Turner and Hill to bring their vision to fruition.

Together, these ten men prepared and submitted a petition to Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s International Headquarters. Their application was not just a formal request but a testament to their determination and commitment to upholding the fraternity’s standards while addressing the unique needs of the Warner Robins community. They envisioned a chapter that would not only connect and empower local Omega Men but also engage in meaningful community service and leadership development initiatives.

A Milestone Achievement

On March 28, 1988, the Supreme Council of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. reviewed and approved the charter application. This approval was a pivotal moment, officially paving the way for the establishment of the Omega Gamma Gamma Chapter. The chapter’s formal charter date was set as December 9, 1988, forever marking its place in the fraternity’s storied history as the 855th chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

The significance of this milestone was celebrated in grand fashion. Over 125 guests gathered for a memorable Chartering Reception and Ceremony to honor the occasion. This event was a unifying moment, not just for the chapter’s charter members but for the broader fraternity and community. Attendees witnessed the installation of the chapter’s first officers, led by the newly elected 7th District Representative, Brother Henry Spears. His presence underscored the fraternity’s support and belief in the chapter’s potential to thrive and make a lasting impact.

The Spirit of Brotherhood Lives On

The creation of the Omega Gamma Gamma Chapter exemplifies the power of brotherhood, shared purpose, and perseverance. From the initial vision sparked by two committed brothers to the collective effort of ten determined men, the chapter stands as a testament to the enduring strength of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. This chapter was not merely established to exist—it was built to thrive, to uplift, and to serve as a guiding light for its members and the community of Warner Robins. It remains a living legacy of those who dared to dream and worked together to make that dream a reality. Growth and Legacy Over the years, Omega Gamma Gamma has seen steady growth, initiating numerous dedicated men into its ranks. This expansion reflects the chapter’s unwavering commitment to Omega’s cardinal principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.

Continuing the Mission

The Omega Gamma Gamma Chapter continues to be a pillar of brotherhood and service in the Warner Robins community. Its members honor the legacy of the founding charter members and remain steadfast in their commitment to the fraternity’s mission, uplifting communities and exemplifying excellence in every endeavor.
